These invitations were 100% handmade [with love] and were much simpler than the psychotically over-the-top save-the-dates that I decided to do (because back then I was semi-new to paper crafting and I can’t comprehend the word simple… cute is more important). ;-)
My math teacher would be so proud to know how much algebra and geometry went into making this.
I started with a 12 x 12 piece of card stock and had to figure out how to make this fold with a pocket. I wish I had a template… I do, somewhere. Maybe one day I’ll do something like this again… someday far far far away from now.
Yes, I purchased a wax stamp just for this. And yes, I still love my wax stamp. :-)
Here’s the back. Before tying the ribbon I added a little charm to it. And I mean that in more than one way. ;-)
Ok and now for the inside! Ta da!!! This was a piece of work on the computer. Trying to make sure the margins were right and everything was centered was a mission but once I got it right, it was easy to print and cut everything.
I used my Martha Stewart shell punch for the edges of the main invite then glued it onto the blue card stock. The size of the paper was really important for this in order to ensure that the edges lined up perfectly.
Each of these cards are a different color if you notice (hard to see in this picture) and I glued them onto another piece of card stock to make a nice border. The border card stock is shimmery which gave them a nice elegant touch (also hard to make out in the picture). The white RSVP paper is shimmery as well. And of course I made the envelopes too…. that was FUN! lol ;-)
Here is everything. They almost didn’t fit in that tiny little pocket!! I love the fonts that I used. The titles are done in Lavenderia and the rest of the text is Sacramento.
This map was so cool! I can’t remember where I did it. It was a website where I could create a map and add icons and then I think I imported the image into Word where I added the text. So cute!!
These labels were made in Word and I just added a cute anchor to go with the nautical theme. The stamps were super cute too!
BIG HUGE GIANT thank you to my mom who helped me put these invites together!!! What a huge project, but they did turn out beautiful!
comment love
